my main hard drive is full.... how can i install applications on my secondary hard drive?

Can you give the output of:

sudo apt-get clean; uname -a; lsb_release -a; echo; dpkg -l | grep linux-image-2

Instead of dispatching software on both drives, it could cleaner to move /home on a dedicated partition of one drive and have system on another one. If you want help, post again.
