no boot prompt

I have dual loaded windows 7 and ubuntu 10.10 on my computer. But when I restart the computer without the live disc there is no boot prompt. The computer loads into windows 7 without giving me a choice. what do I do.

Did you use the windows installer or install from the live CD? Do you have more than one hard drive?

I installed ubuntu from the live cd and I am running both OS's from the same HD a 500GB western digital and I have an ASUS motherboard.

It seems like somehow you didn't install the grub bootloader. If that's all that's missing you can just reinstall it:
https://help.ubuntu.com/community/Grub2#Reinstalling%20from%20LiveCD

If you're not sure, you can post the results of the http://bootinfoscript.sourceforge.net/ to http://pastebin.ubuntu.com/ and respond with the address and I'll take a look.
