ubuntu wont boot after 10.10 upgrade

i have ubuntu set as a dual boot with with windows 7. worked perfectly fine with 10.04. i did the update to 10.10 and after it was finished i clicked restart now. tried to boot the ubuntu. when it tries to boot it says error file not found. then i get the dell loading screen again. it just restarts and gives me the option again and i can only boot windows.

Apparently the grub update is wrong... Not that easy to solve.

The "What can I try first?" option from a LiveCD sounds like a good idea to start. If not working, then you will have to use the chroot process.
