10.10 grub-legacy-ec2 install failed

Attempted install of 10.10 on HP Z400 with 2TB disk. Selected SSH server, Ubuntu desktop and Ubuntu cloud instance.
Received these errors:

Are you using update-manager and if yes, which was version of first Ubuntu installed.
As I see grub-legacy, it should at least as old than 9.10.

This was a fresh install on a brand-new machine. I repeated the install, this time selecting only the ssh server and the ubuntu desktop (I didn't select ubuntu cloud instance this time), and it worked fine.
