trying to dual boot mint debian from ubuntu 10.10

have run sudo update-grub from terminal and it finds mint, but does not appear in boot menu. also tried same in mint with same result. anyone got any ideas?

I'd post on the mint forum too

Why are you using Ubuntu and mint, seems strange. You will need to hack around with grub2's config files etc and add the entry

I'm not used on this configuration.
To avoid one overwriting the other, I think you need to make a dedicated "/boot" partition, and to declare it in BOTH distributions as mounting point.

Can you help with this problem?
