[Reinstall Windows]
LIke the 1000 other people who have posted here, i have an issue with dual booting windows 7, with ubuntu.
I am trying to get the dual booting occurring on the same hard disk. I have a windows partition, a Linux root drive a 8GB swap area partition, and a NTFS storage.
I have come from windows, as a linux newbie, and i must admit, i quite like linux.
The problem i have, that simply cannot be sorted by just "install windows first", is that sometimes i find the need to format my windows drive and reinstall windows. This, as many of you know, wipes out my grub boot loader:(
A fix i have considered my work, would be to install the GRUB boot loader on either the swap space (unlikely that this would work) or my NTFS storage. The problem is, consulting too many sites, that assume you are a Linux guru. For an intermediate windows user, How would you suggest i attempt this? I have gathered the stage 1, stage 2 and menu files, but i have no idea how to do anything with them. And final question, since you are not able to partition the spaces any more (there is a limit to the number of partitions you can create) could i set my NTFS storage one to hold the grub files?
I should probably point out, that at this stage, my entire hard drive is easily formatted for any crazy ninja configurations you Ubuntu gurus think would help me out.
Thanks for reading through this, and i hope you can direct me to some more newbie friendly articles/help that will assist me in my dilemma.
