Setting Primary Partition Active with Fdisk

Asked by Hidden_Cat

Hello, I need help "Setting Primary Partition Active with Fdisk" in ubuntu 10.04.1.
Here is my situation;
I have Windows 7 x64 on the first partition, 110GB.
I have a backup partition, 110GB, right now empty.
than ubuntu 10.04.1, 13GB.
than SWAP, 5GB.

I am using Acronis True Image Home 2011 (ATI) in Windows 7. I created an Acronis Secure Zone (ASZ) on the 110GB Win7 partition using 60GB of storage. Now I'm trying to activate the Acronis Startup Recovery Manager feature.

The problem seams to occur because I have a Linux GRUB.
The solution from Acronis is to (Set the Linux root (/) partition or /boot partition (in case you have a separate /boot partition) Primary and Active.)

Here is their tutorial: http://kb.acronis.com/content/1504
And here is their explanation on how to deploy this solution: http://www.acronis.com/r/support/en/kb/102/fdisk.txt

It looks different in ubuntu 10.04.1 than in their explanation.

So here goes my question, can somebody please tell me how to do the same thing as they describe in ubuntu?
thanks :)

Instead of using fdisk, you can install gparted, which has a GUI. Else "man fdisk" should explain you how to use fdisk.
