GRUB Error!

When i boot Ubuntu from my second ATA Hard DIsk it gives me the ERROR 17 on GRUB Loading ouput on screen is something like this:

GRUB Loading, please wait....
ERROR 17

Please tell me how can i fix this error and i was thinking of switching to LILO from GRUB which do u say is better and if LILO then how can i install it.

Please reply as quickly as possible!!

Thanks for the question.

Error 17 means that the grub configuration refers to a partition with an unknown filesystem. Make sure that your drive and partition references in the MBR and in the menu.lst file are correct

Maybe you can post your /boot/grub/menu.lst file here together with your disk information.

How can i configure GRUB? And plz tell me if LILO is better than GRUB or if GRUB2 is better than GRUB.

LILO was the old boot loader used in linux. I find that grub is far more flexible in usage.
