9.10 netbook remix boot error

Asked by Horst Seeger

Have installed 9.10 netbook remix on my aspire one via cd - image transferred to cd. At the end of installing I was ordered to remove the cd. I did it.
If I boot now I get the message:

Grub loading
error: no such disk
grub rescue>

I have changed already in bios setup to boot from internal hd. no result.
What to do?

meanwhile I have reinstalled several times, from cd from usb-stick, makring the first hd as booting disk - nothing changed. the acer one nettbook has a small flash-disk (8GB) as hd. I have added a 16-GB-SD-Card as extended space. It seems the installer doesn't regognize the internal flash-disk. I can start it from the USB-Card, but this is not, what I want.
I want to boot it how it should be from the own memory.
There is nobody who knows a solution?

Now I think I have the solution, because now the netbook has booted as it should. The solution: the Remix install didn't recognise the smaller of the two flash disks as the real internal one, from which the boot should be done. So I have clicked the "manual partitioning" during the installation and have chosen this smaller one as the boot disk. Now it works. By the way, when I have installed 9.04 this problem didn't happen. Why? This I don't know. I just know, that I was happy to have UBUNTU instead of the dull LINPUS, which was installed on the ACER ONE, when I bought it. So now I can go on which Ubuntu also on the netbook.
