1.97 beta 3 grub dual boot vista/karmic 9.10

Asked by jm

I have an hp G60-445DX notebook. Vista with dual boot Ubuntu 8.10. This works just fine. Using 32-bit windows.

I added a partition, by splitting my 8.10 partition and put 9.10 beta Karma on it.

Now I can't get into windows without turning off the laptop, taking out the battery, pressing the powerbutton and then putting the battery back in. plug it in, and may in 1 or two/three ?? attempts it will get pass the check file system or restart - incorrect shutdown.

I have to do this to get into Karmic 9.10 the last time too.

I thought at first it was because of the latest windows update, but it's still happening.

Any suggestions? Is this a 1.97 beta grub issue?

I have Windows info from check disk that it couldn't repair something.

THANK YOU! THANK YOU!

I did an update-grub2 as root and it seems to be working now!
