grub package

Grub loading for more than 5 minutes

Installed Ubuntu 9.10 beta, rebooted and at first grub failed and got a grub rescue prompt. Next, I shut down the machine and rebooted, this time grub displayed Grub Loading and for 5-7 minutes continue running and then finally I got the boot select screen. Not sure what grub is doing but this is a very long time just to select which operating system I want to boot.

I did not remember that I has installed the drive on a USB connection. I think that is why it was taking so long. Installed drive on SATA bus and problem went away.
