XP Pro and Ubuntu, cannot choose grub item usb keyboard disabled booting problem

Asked by Adam

I have just installed Ubuntu 9.04 (from CD that I bought on Ebay) for the first time in my life-I never used Ubuntu or any Linux before.
During installation I chose option to have choice booting from my XP Pro or booting from Ubuntu. The problem is every time when I start my PC (or restart) I can see options if to boot from XP Pro or from Ubuntu but MY KEYBOARD DOES NOT WORK-the arrows are dead, probably system does not even "see" my keyboard. So I have no any choice and every time I end up on Ubuntu...at the moment XP Pro and my data on it are much more important for me than trying Ubuntu...how to fix that easily ?

I found the problem: it was in BIOS settings: supporting USB keyboard was set to "disable".

In the future please require a free no cost Ubuntu cd-rom from here: https://shipit.ubuntu.com/

"Ubuntu is available free of charge and we can send you a CD of the latest version with no extra cost, but the delivery may take up to ten weeks, so you should consider downloading the CD image if you have a fast Internet connection. "
