Grub Loading Error 22 (after deleting a Partition)

Asked by FajardXorg

I have a gateway Laptop on which it has a Factory partition and the OS pre-installed. I did a dual booting but i found a problem with , which i logged in in Windows Vista and erased the Linux partition <Ubuntu> i rebooted and i got the message "Grub loading error 22." I did not expect that to happen.

can any one provide a solution for it, to have vista working again and have <Ubuntu 9.4 > working again.

thanks in advanced.

You installed Ubuntu and it created a sequence for loading the one of two OSes. After you erased Ubuntu partition this sequence is damaged so no OS can be loaded.

If you really want Ubuntu working again you just install it again. It should recognise that there's Vista on your disk and offer you dual boot option. So you have to choose "Install side by side" during the Ubuntu installation and after it is completed you would have an option to load the one or other OS.

If you want Vista working alone try to repair your GRUB with this

or try to find something similar here
