grub package

don't able to mount ubuntu 9.04

well ,i upgraded ubuntu 8.10 to 9.04 through internet connection.I have a dual boot.after upgrading ubuntu 9.04 i formatted windows XP.After that i installed grub prefer from documemtation provided(through cd ).It's all OK.In the boot line ubuntu appears.By selecting this it gives error 17:unable to mount.PLEASE provide me the solution.I will be very thankful to you.
