wants to install multi boot Debian, Ubuntu & Windows XP

Asked by Rajinder Sandhu

I had been working fine with ubuntu for the past for years ubuntu 6.x was my first experience and now it was ubuntu 8.10 along with windows XP in dual boot mode.
Recently i have downloaded and installed Debian 5.0 Lenny it has done what was not expected of it removed my old grub entries and made its own now all data lost and when trying to recover it is not showing the stagees ie stage1 or 2 or 5 so my question is......... is it possible to have multi boot environment to keep all the three OS on my PC with single grub and what procedurre we should follow, my experience says first we should install XP then Ubuntu
Thanks
Rajinder

I suspect that just editing the menu.lst on Debian just in order to boot into ubuntu. Then booting into Ubuntu and doing the "fixmbr" would re-establish your Ubuntu's grub and the Debian entry would need to be added to that.

I could do details tomorrow?

Good luck and regards from
Tom :)
