Error 28 : Selected item cannot fit into memory.

I am new to Linux. My PC is dual boot with two hard disks. Windows Vista is installed in the first HDD. I installed Ubuntu 8.10 in a partition in the second HDD. While booting I Get the Grub Option to boot. when Ubuntu is selected, I get the following error Message: "Error 28 : Selected item cannot fit into memory." and reverts to boot option. Kindly help me

reinstall/reconfigure Grub should fix this
