ubuntu not booting

Hi
One of pc has dual boot: windows xp with ubuntu 8.04. I am not able to boot ubuntu. when pc is turned on it directly goes to xp. The boot menu from which i can select ubuntu does not appear. What should i do?

Did you install Ubuntu first and then Windows?

while installing ubuntu you have not set the grub loader time due to which it has take grub loading time to 0 seconds so now u have to install it again and this time be carefull of entering grub loading time

window was installled first. I could get grub boot menu for couple of month. something happened and grub boot menu disappeared. How can i re install grub

Ops,

Perhaps you did a recover-action in windows; that action restores the Windows-MBR which start Windows direct after booting...

Do you (still) have a Ubuntu-08.04 CD rom?!?
If Yes, i suggest to boot from that CD, go to Recovery_Mode and re-install grub using the command:

   grub-install --no-floppy
