error 11 on ubuntu 8.10 dual boot with xp pro.

I have dual boot on my PC with xp pro & ubuntu 8.10. when the pc is booting I can select ubuntu and boots fine but when I select xp it gives error 11. can anybody please help,I don`t want to reinstall both systems again only to get same message. also I may add xp was allready on the PC when I install ubuntu!

K-Cike,

few questions: after you select XP, do you only see this Error-11 ?!?
and:
in what type of screen?!? (blue with white text?)

Is XP partly loading or not at all?!?
Can you go to Safe-Mode (do not wait between these 4 things:)

 choose XP <Enter> <F8> <F8> (few times)

Is this giving the Windows-menu where you can choose to run Safe-Mode?!?

I solve this error 11 with grub update. thnx alot for your effort,but now after I try to load XP from grub I get error 28. I will start a new question about this.
