Hard Drive Format Problem

Asked by WB4RHA

It appears that when I formatted and installed Ubuntu on my computer, it did NOT make the drive a bootable hard drive; every time I reboot or start from a shutdown, it REQUIRES me to have a Ubuntu disk in the drive in order to boot! Even if I have the BIOS set to boot only from the hard drive, it says non systems disk, please install a systems disk and hit any key to continue. How do I fix this?

I don't know exactly what the problem here is, but you can always try this the SGD recovery disk: http://www.supergrubdisk.org/

Based on the explanation, apparently the MBR on your disk wasn't written correctly, or maybe the installation itself was just corrupt.

Can you help with this problem?
