ubuntu wont start

well i am new to linux software and i just installed ubuntu on my i386 comp with a 160 gig hard drive. i try and start it and it says grub bootloader version 1.5 then it says error 15 file not found. i am not shure why this is happening and some feedback would be nice. im using a dell with all stock stuff except the hard drive.

Ok, I am a newcomer too, but I try to help you. Maybe your cd was bad burned, try to check integrity. You can do this in the starting window, where you choose install.

If integrity is ok, you can try to install again and see if your problem will repeat.

Which CD did you use? Did you specify a separate partition for /boot?

i solved the problem myself. i was using a hard drive controler card in my comp and it loaded the drivers on the live cd and live cd thought that it was hard drive 2,0 but grub saw it as hard drive 0,0 so it gave me the error cannot find file so i went into edit and edited the boot disk and changed it to (0,0) instead of (2,0) and that solved my problem
