Ubuntu installation - boot selection

Asked by gmaddockgreene

Hi and nice to meet everyone!

I have installed Ubuntu on Windows and now have two boot options at start-up. Windows XP or Ubuntu.

The problem I have is that my keyboard drivers do not appear to have loaded when this boot selection screen appears and so I cannot make the selection. After 10 seconds it automatically boots to Windows XP. How can I overcome this please? Help really appreciated.

Hi ... yes I am 'trying' to use the arrow keys!

The keyboard and optical mouse is wireless Belkin model.

I can get Ubunto to boot by changing the boot drive order in the BIOS and setting the CD to boot first, but ideally I do not want to run from the CD.

Thanks for your help.
