Tried installing ubuntu but now windows xp is not booting up

i tried installing ubuntu but now im getting a error 21. It says "error 21 grub 1.5 loading please wait" and i wait but it never worked. Since that has been popping up i cant go to my windows xp because its like not even there. Im using ubuntu off the cd right now and i need to fix this asap. please help

Did you install ubuntu fully?
or did you stop it half way, and did you wipe XP? other words did you set Ubuntu to install on a partition or on the "c" drive as it is called using windows terminology. if you told it to install there, not good you may have wiped it.
can you see the xp files in Computer ( My Computer) you will find it in Places-computer in there can you see windows at all. Ubuntu will be called filesystem. the cd/dvd will be called just that, if you can see an other HDD (partition) look in there to see if the XP files are there or not. if so try and repair XP from the disc, again take care as you can wipe it with the Xp disc as well.
