Failed to install Ubuntu 7.10 in dualboot mode

Asked by sanju

Hello,

I recently got an Ubuntu 7.10 Cd shipped, currently i am running winxp sp2on my machine
( 2GB Ram,250 GB hard drive with 256 MB Nvidea Graphic Card and core duo processor), i have
XP installed on c: drive and i am trying to install ubuntu on D: drive having 40 Gb freespace.
i tried to install Ubuntu as per the documentation provided in the CD in dualboot mode,
the installation is throwing an error "Fatal Error :cannot load Grub....." when the installation
progress 90+% complete and the installation menu disappears.
i tried restarting the machine after waiting for sometime and tried re installing but again i'm getting the same error.
Can anybody help me with this....

Thanks and Best Regards,
Sanjay

Ok Sanjay

Go on this page. It is my own first site
http://beacompsavvy.googlepages.com/instubuwiwinvipreinst

This site will help you to make a partition for ubuntu. Don't worry, it does say that it needs windows vista but it will also work with windows xp.

Yours truly,
Abhinav.

On the site do not perform the third step. It is only for windows vista.

If you have any problem feel free to contact me. It would be better if you would call me on my phone number given in contact us:
