screen dispalys grub4dos 0.4.4 memory 638K/2037M Menu end>0x43546 what do i do to recover my files form ubuntu?

The screen dispalys grub4dos 0.4.4 memory 638K/2037M Menu end>0x43546 it appears as if it was a prompt, yet I cannot enter ubuntu. I could reinstall ubuntu but there are some files that i really need to recover. What can I do? Is there a way of accesing my files from windows prompt?

You should get a BACKUP then you have no issue.

Sounds like your RAM isn't happy. I suggest you check it from the option in grub or on the live CD. You can also access the partitions in the live CD and copy to the NTFS partition.

I strongly advise you either GET a backup regime or improve the one you have.
