Is Ubuntu the only operating system on the PC or are you setting up a dual boot?

Does XP support UEFI?

If you want. It's a cleaner way to resolve the issue. You can restore your user data from your backups.

I am also having the same problem with Ubuntu 18.04 LTS with Windows 10 dual boot. I tried several times but it is always showing The 'grub-efi-amd64-signed' package failed to install into / target/. Without the GRUB boot leader, the installed system will not boot.
What should I do to resolve this issue to dual boot?
Please help.

Getting same error message on clean installation to HP laptop. No other OS installed. Ubuntu seems to work flawlessly as long as I boot from installation USB thumb drive and leave it plugged in.
