Does this happen with every CD you try to rip, or does it only occur with
certain CDs?
Could it be that your harddisk is full and it crashes therefore somewhere?
Do you have the debuginfo for grip installed?
Have you contacted upstream?

As I cannot reprodruce it I am currently only guessing...
