dot problem: "gtk" not recognized

Invoking dot with -Tgtk gets error message "gtk" not recognized

I have the following packages (graphviz 2.26,x, libgraphviz4 2.26.x, graphviz-cairo 2.8.3 and the dev packages)

what can be done to allow the gtk integration?
