can't launch GPointingDeviceSettings

Asked by gcb

creating this ticket based on one review of GPointingDeviceSettings on the 'ubuntu app store' thingy.

a user is giving one star complaining he can't launch the application after installing.

I never had this problem because i launch it from the terminal. but i did try to launch to the GUI after reading that comment, and failed!

the launcher does not find it if i search for "GPointingDeviceSettings", "gpointing", "pointing", "trackpad", "track", "mouse", "device"

besides the fact that this should be in the system settings to begin with :) how is a user supposed to find it after installing if even the application name (or the name that appear in the dock) will not reveal it?

Yes , you have right about that.

I don't know why Dash not finds this application . This probably is a matter of developers. You can fill a bug or something about this.

But I have a solution for you.

Open a terminal (CTRL+ALT+T) and run this command

gpointing-device-settings

and you will see the window. Of course you can create your own launcher if you want , but this is not the point.

Thanks

as I sais, I already do that... doubt was more if dash, ubuntu package or the application was to be bugged about this. from your answer I figure it's the application
