how i extent partition space

i have a dell inspiron 1525 laptop with installed vista then after few years i installed Ubuntu now i mostly use Ubuntu only but alloted only 3gb space for that i want to extend it without loss of any file in both OS(vista and Ubuntu) please help me

First defragment Windows few times and after that shrink Windows partition with Gparted live Cd witch you can download from http://gparted.sourceforge.net/.On free space expand Ubuntu partition.

Or use the Live Ubuntu install cd it already have the gparted utility... not need to burn and to use the gparted cd... to resize your parti tions.
