partiton size

i was wondering.... is there a way to increase the partition size... i installed ubuntu 9.10 through windows to try it out so i gave it just 4gb.. yeah iknow really small right.. but now i really like it and want more space...

If you boot from the liveCD or a USB drive, you can run gparted from the System | Administration menu.

You need to boot from the LiveCD or a USB drive if you are going to be moving or resizing the partitions, because you can't change the partitions that you are currently running from.

If you want to create a bootable Ubuntu USB drive or LiveCD, download the ISO from here:
http://www.ubuntu.com/getubuntu/download

You can also see the instructions at that page. You will probably want to use a minimum 1GB USB drive, although I prefer to use a 2GB drive so I can store settings, etc.
