How to instal Ubuntu in drive /d

I have 80Gb memory, and have two partition drive /c and /d

I want to install Ubuntu 9.10 in drive /d. For you information Ubuntu only guide the user to install this OS in drive /c which is same drive with my existing OS.

I try to setting manually, but I don't know the steps.
Can anybody guide me to do it, if possible please attach image for batter understanding!

Please tell are you trying to use Wubi to install Ubuntu (not suggested)...?

If no please simply delete the partition d: (i guess using is recognized by Ubuntu as /dev/sda2) using (boot your pc entirely from) the Ubuntu live install cd and then use the System→Administration→Partititon editor (gparted) to delete the /dev/sda2 partition

Then install Ubuntu telling at install step to use the free space.

Better:

Please simply delete the partition d: (i guess using is recognized by Ubuntu as /dev/sda2)

- boot your pc entirely from the Ubuntu live install cd a
- Open the System→Administration→Partititon editor (gparted)
- delete the /dev/sda2 partition
- close gparted
- click on desktop install icon

Then install Ubuntu telling at install step to use the free space.
