Asked by Mr. Singh on 2011-08-06

Please help me!
I am using gparted in Ubuntu 11.04 live cd to increase the size of partition mounted as home.
I have used 31117 out of 38146 GiB. I have shrinked other partitions (usr, var) and now i have unallocated space of about 35.5 GiB.
But i don't know how to incease the size of my /home. How should i do this? The maximum size allowed there for resizing is 38146.
plz help...

depending on where the unallocated space is, you might not be able to use it to increase your home partition. in order for it to be used, the unallocated space MUST be beside your home partition and it MUST be in the same paritition type (e.g. your home and unallocated space MUST BOTH be on a logical partition or on an extended partition).

I lost some of my data and made new partition. But most of data is safe and some of lost is recovered.
