changing volume labels

both gparted and partitionmanager keep disappearing off the system after i reinstalled them.

anyways, i'm wondering if there's a way to change the volume labels without having to go through gparted. partition manager does not offer this ability.

The partitions will need to be unmounted to label them so will need to be completed in the liveCD
