High memory consumption

Asked by David Raviv

Hi,

I'm using GoldenDict version 0.9.0+git on Ubuntu 10.10.

After a casual use, the memory consumption of the application is ~50MB, which seems too high.
Casual use: the computer up time is 2 days, during which I searched about 5-10 words using the popup.

Is it normal?

Should I file a bug for it?

Thanks, David.

Normally there are not 50MB used totally, its the sum of cached and real used memory

ps aux will tell you the lines about used memory and virtual memory

ps aux shows a resident set size of 1.9% of the physical memory, which is 77.824MB (I have 4GB of physical memory)

ps aux | grep golden
