gnusound latest version not available on UK download site

Asked by Nigel Sedgwick

The gnusound package had a bugfix in Nov 2010 (#282939). This is available in version 0.7.3-3ubuntu2. However, the available version (Ubuntu 10.10 CDROM and UK download site have only version 0.7.5-3ubuntu1. That version is the one with the bug.

Please could someone have the UK download site updated.

And my question: who is the right person/organisation for referral of such suggestions.

Best regards

I cannot see a problem with the versions you listed:
On the UK mirror the available version is 0.7.5-3ubuntu1
That version number is clearly higher than 0.7.3-3ubuntu2
Note the difference in the third digit!

Or do you want to say that 0.7._5_-3ubuntu1 contains a bug that has already been repaired in 0.7._3_-3ubuntu2?

Sorry, just found out that you apparently had a typo error in your version numbers.

Yes, there is a bug fix from 30 Nov 2010 that has been incorporated in the 0.7.5-3ubuntu2 version.
That version has been released globally only for natty so far, not for maverick.

If you really need it, you should be able to manually install the natty version on your maverick system (will most probably run without problems), or you can ask for a backport to maverick by issueing a bug report on launchpad.

Can you help with this problem?
