mktunes hangs - iPod shuffle on 9.04 Jaunty

In case anyone else comes across this...

mktunes (part of gnupod-tools) hangs when updating an iPod shuffle on Ubuntu.

According to this message

the fix is in GNUpod/SysInfo.pm, fixed by upstream commit on 2009-04-07.

There are also bugs filed against mktunes for Jaunty, claiming it doesn't (cannot) work. I don't know about that - the above workaround got my (old-style) Shuffle up and running. Rgds, Jerry
