digital signature

Asked by narendra

I have created a digital signature using the gpg command in ubuntu 9.04.
when I try to sign a pdf document with the command :

gpg -o cse.gpg --sign csesyllabus.pdf
then it shows a message like: usage: gpg [options] --sign [file name]

and when I sign a file created with by cat command then no such message is shown and I get a file with .gpg extension, but I can still edit that .gpg extensiion file.
Thank You.
