Signing Code of Conduct

Hey Guys

        I am trying to become an Ubuntero.I did everything correct.I downloaded the file & gave the command gpg --clearsign UbuntuCodeofConduct-1.0.1.txt.I then got the .asc file.When I double click it to open,it says "Couldn't verify the file: UbuntuCodeofConduct-1.0.1.txt.asc
What should I do? Pls help me guys.

I don't understand why it's asking you to verify the file.

Can you right click on it and go to OPEN WITH TEXT EDITOR?

Or on the command line type (Applications > Accessories > Terminal):

gedit UbuntuCodeofConduct-1.0.1.txt.asc
(in the directory where the file is...)

This will open it.

     Now the file is opening as I used the command gedit UbuntuCodeofConduct-1.0.1.txt.asc but there is no data inside the file.What do I do?Pls help me guys

         I solved the problem by myself.I opened the file with open office 3.
