[gnome-screenshot] Translated text is not shown translated

Asked by Christoph Korn

Binary package hint: gnome-utils

I just installed the jaunty daily and saw an unstranslated string in gnome-screenshot.
(See attached screenshot)
So I grabbed the source package with apt-get source gnome-utils and wanted to translate it.
But it is already translated in the po file.
What is wrong here?

gnome-utils:
  Installed: 2.26.0-0ubuntu1
  Candidate: 2.26.0-0ubuntu1
  Version table:
 *** 2.26.0-0ubuntu1 0
        500 http://de.archive.ubuntu.com jaunty/main Packages
        100 /var/lib/dpkg/status

Description: Ubuntu jaunty (development branch)
Release: 9.04

Does it make sense to translate the applications twice?
https://translations.launchpad.net/ubuntu/jaunty/+source/gnome-utils/+pots/gnome-utils-2.0/de/442/+translate
The string is also translated in the jaunty source package?

Now I looked in language-pack-de, language-pack-de-base, language-pack-gnome-de, language-pack-gnome-de-base and I did not find the gnome-screenshot translation in any of these.

Ok, now I have found the translation in language-pack-gnome-de-base.
(I searched for gnome-screenshot instead of gnome-utils)

Now I see that the string is really untranslated there.

So what was going wrong there?

And how can I translate it?

What page?
The translation suggestion is fine.
It is just not in the language-pack.

On a testing unstable release, if the translation is fine, you must only wait the stable release with the incoming translation upgraded and included into the final release...

Hope this helps
