Underscore ("_") in middle of words

Asked by Eyal Levin

Hey,

How should I translate something like this: "St_atusbar" ?

Do I need to put the underscore in the translation too, and if so, where?

Thanks,

Eyal Levin

Hello Eyal,

Yes you need to put the underscore in your translation too.
The underscore indicates where some GUI Toolkits (like GTK or QT) put their shortcut mark (the underscore under the "F" in the File menu entry for example).
That's one of the hardest parts of translation, if possible pick the same letter as the original text or make sure you keep them unique.

Kind regards,
