10.10 alt-printscreen inop

Asked by prcoy

Since upgrading to 10.10 the ALT-Printscreen doesn't make a snapshot of the window. I can use the "Take Screenshot" app but it's inconvenient compared to pressing two keys. Docs say it should work but docs usually run a couple revs late. Now what?

I can confirm that my system does not do this either.
I went to System Preferences - Keyboard Shortcuts and then went to the listing for this shortcut and cleared it. Then I tried to recreate it using alt+prtscrn and I was unable to set it.

I had to set it to shift-prtscrn instead to get it to work.

So, confirming that unable to set it to alt+prntscrn and used shift+prntscrn instead.

Test new shortcut and it works.
