how can I delete the log files

log files don't take very much space, seeing that they're only text files.
you can go to coomputer janitor that is under system>administration and delete various files that were left over.

you can also press CTL+ALT+T to get into terminal, then type

sudo apt-get autoremove
sudo apt-get clean

enter your password when asked, it won't be displayed.
