Ubuntu 10.04 Dictionary no longer working

For the past two days, Ubuntu Lucid dictionary applet is no longer supplying data to any word I enter.
Not sure if dictionary server is offline or something else is going on. I get the same results using two different
Ubuntu computers.
Error responses range from nothing to "Error while looking up definition" or
"Connection failed to the dictionary server at dict.org:2628"
My system: Kernel Linux 2.6.32-25-generic
GNOME 2.30.2
