how to install xampp

i have xampp-linux-1.5.3a.tar.gz on desktop then what are the commands to install xampp to run my php projects its urgent so please help me .Thanks in advance

Installation instructions, step by step can be found here:

It will install everything in the subdirectory /opt/lampp
and your web server root will be:

/opt/lampp/htdocs

The easiest way for me:
Open Synaptic
Then, Edit .... Mark packages by task ---- Check "LAMP Server", then Ok and "Apply Changes"
