How do I do this.

I open a terminal.

Type cd download
then cd internet.

How do I get back to download.?

"cd .." brings you back to the parent of the current folder.

I did know that, but I used cd..

If you type your password you don´t see this. But it will work.

What command are you typing?

 apt-get install compizconfig-settings-manager
then i have to type the password but i can't!!!

Try this

sudo apt-get install compizconfig-settings-manager

I think you have more luck now.

hi,
i open my terminal and type a command. It asks for a password, i type it but nothing happens. I know the password is not displayed but the process doesnot commence. Even sudo apt-get update aint working. Please help!
