Unable to perform upgrade

Hi! Thanks for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. I just want to check some details to confirm this bug. Can you please confirm whether the file /etc/apt/sources.list contains the word "sudo," particularly on line 54? One way to do this is (in a terminal), run the command "grep -n sudo /etc/apt/sources.list". Thanks again!

On further thought, I believe that this is more appropriately handled as a support question than as a bug. I believe the cause of this is an errant "sudo" in your sources.list file, which is what the "grep" command from my previous comment would hopefully confirm. In that case, we can fix this for you by helping you identify where the problem is, and removing that line (or just the "sudo" part).

Can you please do the following:

1) Open a terminal (Applications->Accessories->Terminal)
2) Type this command:

gedit /etc/apt/sources.list

3) Copy and paste the contents of the file into a response here.
4) Close the following.

This information will hopefully help us solve your problem.
