how to install winavi video converter

I'm trying to convert a movie to dvd and then burn it to dvd.

Hello, jimmer. :-)

Unfortunately, winavi is a Windows-only program, and even WINE can't run it.

However, there are tons of alternatives to it. For instance, devede is a wonderful tool to convert avi to dvd, and it's worked in all of the dvd players I've tried them in.

It should be in the repositories, meaning a quick, simple download. :-)

Open up a terminal, or console, and write:
"sudo apt-get install devede"
