gnome-terminal 3.26.2?

Asked by Jeff Silverman

I have a machine running Fedora 27 and this machine is running Zesty 17.04. The Fedora machine has gnome-terminal 3.26.2. This machine has gnome-terminal 3.20.2. There is a feature in gnome-terminal 3.26.2 that I like: it has the ability to copy and paste HTML. I use a colored prompt in my terminal sessions, so that feature is most helpful.

Any possibility of gnome-terminal 3.26.2 in Ubuntu 18.04?

Many thanks

Jeff

Gnome 3.24 seems to be destined for Bionic. There is a Gnome PPA
They have it here for Xenial
https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-desktop/+archive/ubuntu/gnome-3-26

This obviously comes with the usual caveats of a PPA. There may be one for Bionic or Artful.

gnome-terminal 3.26 has just made it into Bionic, and hopefully it'll even have 3.28.
