Running commands with sudo no longer funtions

Asked by newb

When I try to give commands with sudo (in this case, sudo wlassistant to connect to a wireless network) it asks for may password, i put it in, and then... Nothing happens! No errors or anything. just waits for my next command. wireless assistant is the only way I have to connect to my wireless network. and I have to use sudo, but it just doesn't do anything anymore. I also tried sudo apt-get install. but the same thing happens. I'm on Dapper and first noticed the problem shortly after I changed my password. any suggestions?

Is it possible you forgot the new password? or entered it incorrectly
Are you on a pure Linux system or dual boot
If on a dual boot you might try to boot an earlier version, then try sudo again,

These are just some thoughts, I have never experienced your problem, so no real answer.
