gnome-terminal, funktion-key

Asked by Georg Fischer

I use Ubuntu 8.10. My C-programs waits for press of the funktions-keys. This works with
F2 .. F10. But when i press F1, gnome-help starts, and no code comes to my c-program.

The situation is similar for F11.

Where can i tell gnome-terminal, not to run gnome-help, when i press F1. I looked in
/usr/share/gnome-terminal, could not find an entry.

in a terminal, you can go to edit → keyboard shortcuts and under the help section, Contents there you can change the binding from F1.

Thank you for your answer. Perhaps i have a problem with GERMAN Ubuntu.
I go to "Bearbeiten" (Edit), "Tastenkombinationen" (keyboard shortcuts). There i DESELECTED
F10 "Menuetastenkomination aktivieren Vorgabe F10", this works, F10 now SENDS Code to
my C-program. So i solved problem "F10". The C-program gets code, when i press F10.
Still i have a problem with "F1".
"Hilfe" "Inhalt" (help, content), "Tastenkombination" (keyboard shortcut) i can see is set to F1.
There i have no possibility to change that. "HILFE" (help) doesn't give me a possibilty to change
something.

nhasian, you helped me solving the problem.
I have to make: "Bearbeiten" (Edit), "Tastenkombinationen" (keyboard shortcuts.
I go to the line "Hilfe" (help), "Inhalt" (content). I click on "F1", i can see
"Neue Tastenkombination" (new keyboard shortcut).

Here i have to press for exampel F12, and now "gnome-help" is started, when i press
F12 !!! The code of F1 now reaches my C-program.

The problem was: i did not understand the following: "Neue Tastenkombination" (new
keyboard shortcut) wanted from me the press of a new key.

Now all works fine. The changes i made are stored, if i re-use gnome-terminal, the last
changes are recorded.

Thank you rhasian.
